| Severity Level | Risk | Interpretation
|
| 4 | Very Severe | This type of interaction should almost always be avoided. Harm usually results.
|
| 3 | Severe | The drug interaction usually results in increased or decreased effect of at least one of the interacting drugs. Harm can result.
|
| 2 | Moderate | The clinical effects from one or both drugs may be effected, however, the effects are often not serious.
|
| 1 | Low | A very low risk of an interaction exists and the problems associated with the interaction are often not severe, if they occur at all.
